Congress unlikely to get more than 50 seats in UP alliance

In UP, Congress party wants more that 125 Assembly seats for 2027 polls from alliance partner Samajwadi Party. The Congress is giving some reasons for more seats but in 2022 polls when the party decided to fight the election solo, it could win only 2 seats. Experts opined that how could a party which has only two MLAs, expect more than 100 seats from the alliance partner. Observers claim the Congress party is nowhere on the ground in UP and at best Samajwadi Party is likely to offer it about 30 to 50 seats. The Congress might ultimately take the offer.
