CRPF to reinstate 'Lance Naik' and 'Naik' ranks after 30 years

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is planning to restore the ranks of Lance Naik and Naik, which were previously abolished in 1997. This strategic move introduces two intermediate promotion steps between the ranks of Constable and Head Constable.

The revival of these ranks serves a dual purpose. Primarily, it aims to resolve widespread promotion delays, ensuring faster career progression and boosting troop morale. Additionally, the CRPF hopes this structured rank hierarchy will make the force a more attractive and seamless secondary career option for Agniveers transitioning out of the Indian Army.
