The abrupt announcement of the Government to appoint Suresh Kumar, Additional Secretary Coal, as Acting CMD of the Coal India has made it clear that Gopal Singh will not be appointed full time CMD of the CIL. Suresh Kumar is 1986 batch IAS officer of J & K cadre.
