HURL launches two major healthcare CSR initiatives in Gorakhpur (UPDATED)
Reinforcing its commitment to accessible and quality healthcare, Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) launched two significant Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives-Project Arogya Mitra and Project Sehat Sathi - Nayi Drishti & Swastha Matritva, in Gorakhpur on 29 July.
The initiatives were inaugurated by Dr. Siba Prasad Mohanty, Managing Director, HURL, in the presence of the Business Unit Head, Gorakhpur, Vice President - CSR, HURL, the Dean of BRD Medical College & Hospital, senior officials of HURL, representatives from Manav Vikas Sanstha (MVS India) and HLFPPT, along with doctors and other dignitaries.
Under Project Arogya Mitra, HURL installed six Health ATMs at SSB Composite Hospital (02), BRD Medical College & Hospital (02), and Lalit Narayan Mishra Railway Hospital (02) with an investment of Rs 52 lakh. These advanced digital healthcare kiosks can perform over 50 diagnostic tests, including Blood Sugar, HbA1c, ECG, Eye Screening, Audiometry, and Cholesterol, providing comprehensive health reports within 15–20 minutes and promoting preventive healthcare.
As part of Project Sehat Sathi - Nayi Drishti & Swastha Matritva, implemented in partnership with HLFPPT, HURL dedicated an advanced Phaco Machine worth Rs 70.31 lakh to the Department of Ophthalmology at BRD Medical College & Hospital, enhancing cataract surgery and specialized eye-care services. The programme also included a Godh Bharai ceremony for 20 expectant mothers, along with the distribution of nutritional kits to support maternal and child health.
Dr. Siba Prasad Mohanty, MD, HURL, reaffirmed the organization's commitment to strengthening public healthcare infrastructure and creating lasting social impact through sustainable CSR initiatives. Together, Project Arogya Mitra and Project Sehat Sathi reflect HURL's holistic approach towards improving healthcare accessibility, supporting maternal well-being, advancing specialized medical services, and building healthier communities.
