LIC chairman post abolished; to have CEO and MD

The position of chairman of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has been abolished. The company will now have the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD). A gazette notification to this effect was issued on July 7, 2021. The decision comes ahead of LIC's initial public offering planned in this current fiscal. The insurer will continue with the post of MD.
