This is History (929)

In politics... never retreat, never retract... never admit a mistake.

Congress has a bright chance in Rajasthan?

As per early indications, Congress has a bright future in the coming Assembly elections in Rajasthan. According to Observers if Congress wins in Rajasthan it is because of CM, Vasundhara Raje and her autocratic style and many sections, including large chunk of State government employee, want to oust BJP govt in Rajasthan.

RaGa wants HAL to manufacture Hoisery  ?

My friend who is a Stock Analyst...Stand Up Comic and Political Blogger all rolled up into one...meets me at my favourite Cafe...over Lattes, Cheesy Fries and Muffins we get chatting....

Friend: Seems RaGa wants HAL to manufacture Hoisery and Appliances.... HAL would then be deciphered as Hoisery Appliances Ltd..

Me: Everywhere he goes he sells to the Public dream of a Mobile Manufacturing Unit to come up in their area if Congress comes to power.....

F: How many Units does he plan to set up...I just bought an Apple Phone and its Made in India...Samsung Mobiles too being made at their State of Art Factory in NOIDA...Samsung slogan.....Make in India... Make for the World...so in actuality as it is RaGa is too late....

M: And as RaGa tried to sell his fibs you could see Scindia extolling crowds to applaud...kitna bewakoof banaaye ge iss ka...and by the way Gandhis have represented Amethi for decades.... how many Made in Amethi products do you see...

F: In Amethi Rajiv used to go into huts to meet the electorate .... and now Son does just the same...he sells them dream of Amethi becoming Singapore....

M: When Amethi girls asked him questions on Amethi he asked them to ask Modi or Yogi....forgetting he's the MP from Amethi for more than a decade....

F:  After failing with Hollande now RaGa trying to use a ex JS in MOD...next he'll use a Waiter in a 5 Star Hotel.... 'he heard commissions being  discussed as he served Dinner to Dassault Officials staying in the Hotel'..

M: Pawar has given a Clean Chit to this Government on Rafalle Deal...

F: Now Durbaris will say Pawar cannot be trusted...when Pawar had said threat to kill Modi was to garner votes... the very same Durbaaris had said Trust Pawar...

M: Seems 0 Commission in Rafalle Deal has got Congress unhinged.... maybe Congress feels this Big Ticket Order will set a wrong precedence...

F: Equally shocked are the Arms Middlemen ....I hear many of them moaning the demise of their businesses ..  while downing drinks at Delhi's famous Watering Holes...

M: I hear quite a few migrated for good..

We have a good laugh and I pay the tab and we move out..

Babus Find Politics More Vibrant To Serve The People

By Sanjay Sharma

Much has been said from time to time on the merits and demerits of bureaucrats joining politics. It has also been debated for long whether there should be a ‘cooling off’ period for a civil servant before he enters politics after quitting or even after retirement.

While difference of opinion over these issues can never be ruled out, there could be no two opinions that, theoretically bureaucrats are most eligible and efficient persons for becoming politicians as they are well acquainted with ground realities - necessary for policy formation.

Having worked at various stages - at district level as collectors, at state level in secretariat and , in majority cases, at various positions in central government, they are supposed to be well versed with the ‘process of policy implementation’ - a boon to serve the nation  in their stint as a politician and as a minister in government in particular,.

But since the officers rarely have the freedom to work as they please, and are mostly employed in service of politicians and not the State, many of them  - eyeing politics as a vibrant medium of serving the nation - join it.

There is a long list of former bureaucrats, police officers, diplomats, technocrats, academics and army officers who are into politics.

They include familiar names like General VK Singh, Kiran Bedi, Ms. Meira Kumar, Hardeep Puri, RK Singh, Sanjiv Tripathi, Mani Shankar Aiyar, N K Singh, Satyapal Singh, Bhagirath Prasad, Yashwant Sinha, Ajit Jogi, Nagabhairava Jayaprakash Narayan, Alphons Kannanthanam, Jesudasu Seelam, J Sundara Sekhar, Arvind Kejriwal, PL Punia and the list goes on.........
