Forthcoming budget to be tabled paperless

For the first time in the history of independent India, the Finance Ministry will not print the documents of the forthcoming budget to be presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1. The move to go paperless comes in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic situation in the country.

Binoy Viswam urges Modi for release of DA to employees

The Finance Ministry had issued an order in April 2020 for freezing 4 per cent additional DA to Central Government employees and DR to the pensioners till July 2021. CPI Rajya Sabha Member Binoy Viswam has urged PM Narendra Modi to reconsider the decision and release the DA. In a letter to the PM, Viswam pointed out that the Cabinet had decided to release the additional DA in light of Covid-19 pandemic.
