UP Government not able to start the Noida International Airport

The newly constructed Noida International Airport at Jewar is not able to take off, Reason the UP Government is not able to resolve a tangle  which is mandatory to start the operation. The said airport is developed by a Swiss company- Zurich  Airport International AG with Christopher Schnellmann as its CEO, The Yamuna International Airport Pvt Ltd(YIAPL) will operate the airport, which is a subsidiary  of the Swiss firm. Schnellmann is a foreigner and the MHA has reportedly refused to give security clearance to a foreign national, holding the post of CEO. Sources said the MHA has also rejected the UP govt plea to tweak rules and allow a foreigner to hold the post. As per rule, the CEO of  a greenfield should be an Indian national. Sources said the UP officials were aware of this but they did not try to resolve the issue for the last three years. PM Modi inaugurated this airport on March 28 this year. The airport security is pending  with the BCAS and without a regulatory approval the airport can not operate flights. It is said that the state bureaucracy is banking on the CM to talk to the HM.
